Awesome tour! :) We were able to experience the culture by tasting the local food of Hanoi. We all enjoyed the original egg coffee and beer. Our guide is very friendly and accommodating. Recommended! :)1,0

I had the luxury of going on a lovely street food tour, organised by the Luxury Backpackers Hostel. We visited 8 attractions: from street food, fresh fruit, egg coffee shop, beer street, ice cream and lots of valuable tourist information.

We visited the old quarter and local markets and the Hoan Kiem Lake.

Hanoi closes certain parts of the city and changes it into a pedestrian area - The streets are littered with people and everyone is just having a great bight out.

I would highly recommend it to any one who is looking for a great trip, free of charge and an excellent guide, called David, then this is the trip for you1,0
We start our evening walking tour at 19:00pm from  Luxury Backpackers. Your expert English-speaking local guide will give you an insight into the intricacies and traditions of Vietnamese food culture including details
on ingredients and historical backgrounds of popular northern dishes. We eat as we go
Walking through the maze of bustling streets that make up Hanoi’s Old Quarter, we tempt our tastebuds with the famed Hanoi dishes such as Bun Cha Hanoi  and Pho at a local eatery. Watch in awe as the skilled chefs demonstrate for you how this tasty dish is put together. Continuing into the atmospheric heart of the Old Quarter, we wander past street stalls and quiet residential lanes where you can observe local life that has changed little since Hanoi was founded over 1000 years ago.
Our next two snack stops are at outdoor barbeque stalls. We sit down with the Hanoi locals and sample various meat, vegetable and bread specialties.  It’s then time for dessert as we venture down a small alley to join in the local tradition of feasting on fresh fruit served in a cup and smothered with crushed iced and condensed milk – this speciality is one not to be missed!
Your local guide will then take you to one of Hanoi’s best kept secrets, a hidden café to drink Egg Coffe .  This hard-to-find café is one of the few left in the city that still serves egg coffee, a scrumptious local delicacy that we will sample whilst admiring the hustle and bustle of the city centre below. Or, if coffee is not your style, a cold beer awaits!. At the end of the trip you are free to continue exploring the area or your guide will assist  you with directions back to your hotel!

    Total Food:
Bun Cha : 2 usd (1 Hang Manh Street) - Of all the great street food in Hanoi, perhaps there'd be no greater crime than to leave without having had Bún chả. Bún chả Hà Nội (grilled pork vermicelli soup) may not sound particularly appetizing, but be assured this thin rice vermicelli served cold with grilled marinated pork is legendary. Bun cha is served with a plate of white rice noodle (bún), a steamy broth and herbs. Traditionally, chả (the pork) is a marinated pork patty, but another type of chả (small pieces of fatty pork belly) also often accompany the patties. Learning the top Bún chả joints is a right of passage for all Hanoi residents.

Pho Ga: 1.5usd (26 Luong Van Can) - Phở is a traditional Vietnamese noodle soup, while phở gà (chicken noodles) is a popular variation on this dish that uses chicken instead of beef. It’s made from boiled chicken, rice noodles, green onions, vegetables, and a broth made from stewed bones. Each phở shop closely guards their secret broth recipe, while Hanoians have endless debates over who makes the best. It is often served with lime and chili. Quẩy (fried bread stick) are usually available upon request.Phở is a traditional Vietnamese noodle soup, while phở gà (chicken noodles) is a popular variation on this dish that uses chicken instead of beef. Banh Goi: 8k /one cake (Ly quoc su street) - Bánh gối (“pillow cake”) is a popular cake which has crispy and golden brown shell, stuffed with pork, shrimps and some vegetables. It’s served with sweet and sour fish sauce.

Banh my: 1usd (62 Hang Bac) - Banh my is Hanoi bread style

Hanoi to Duong Lam Ancient Village - Bat Trang 1 day

Hanoi to Duong Lam Ancient Village - Bat Trang 1 day

Enjoy our day trip to Duong Lam made for travelers to trace back the origin of Vietnamese culture and traditions. A great chance to explore the special architecture through its surviving laterite brick ancient houses, a worthy get away from the bustling atmosphere of the center of Hanoi. Duong Lam is the ancient village about 1,200 years. It still retains the basic village of Vietnam. Two of Vietnam’s kings temples, Phung Hung (761-802) and Ngo Quyen (896-944). The special roads have the shape as the bones of fish, the old village gate in Mong Phu village. Nearly 1000 traditional houses were built a long time ago (in 1649, 1703, 1850…) from blocks of laterite and Bat Trang is Vietnam’s famous ceramic village
